Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Gov. Jerry Brown (D-CA) said Californians will face heavy fines for taking long showers.
Brown said, “This executive order is done under emergency power. It has the force of law."
Obviously there are several issues of interest in that very brief bit of news from the Governor of California. We can get into the whole "Executive orders carry the force of law" tyrant-speak later.
The first question I have - How is the water regulator going to know who takes a shower of X duration? If you do not have a meter on your shower faucet (with video to prove you were taking a shower instead of filling the dog's water bowls) - then how is Petty Functionary Mr. Doe going to equitably enforce this mandate?
The answer is, of course: "He's not." He can't equitably enforce the mandate - so he'll selectively enforce, based upon his whim, or some arbitrary formula that attempts to establish a variation from baseline use, et cetera.
Selective enforcement is always an enemy of Liberty. Examine the premise, in everything these fuckers do. Eventually, you'll find the kernel of Evil hiding beneath the layers of Tyrant-Speak.
Sadly, you folks in California have a longer road to walk back toward Liberty than many of the rest of us. But the road is the same.

DeleteDeport (or execute) all of the illegals and progressives in the state, and Kalifornia will have enough water to last the next hundred years.
Sounds like a good plan, to me...
Free Citizen here. The water meters here in Lawton OK are read electronically. Does anyone know if they can monitor when you are using water? I suspect that they can do more than we are told, but I would like to know for sure.
