There remains much confusion in the details of that morning skirmish, lost forever to History.
The lesson for Patriots of our day is simple: Once we have determined that They mean to have war, let it begin - do not wait for a fair fight.

with regard to the "lost... history", in the same book I quoted, there are excepts from statements by the wounded which seem to indicate that the Patriots hadn't fired first... that said, I would assume there are an equal number of statements to the contrary, blaming them...
