Notice I did not say "...for the coming Hard Things." or some variation. That is because RevWarIII is already fully underway. Look at your feet - the rising tide of RevWarIII has already covered your feet, even if you do not yet feel the water trickling through your boots.

If you do not hear Patrick Henry in your head, right now, you are lost.
It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace, but there is no peace. The war is actually begun!
Go read the full text once more - the time is right. Every sentence should hit you like a fist. Here is Mister Henry's speech in full.

At this point in the war, so many are searching for leadership.
ReplyDeleteSearching for those who will give them direction and words of wisdom.
When all along they have been with us, our Fathers, the great men of our founding, of those who lead in the Revolutionary war. Their words speak to us from our past if only we will listen and obey.
Indeed, this speech means as much today as it did back then. If you don't think so, follow this exercise as I did while reading this : replace the word 'British' in the text with the words 'FEMA', 'DHS', 'govt', 'FUSA' or any other terms used to describe the tyranny that has continued to destroy or liberties in this country. Exchange the word 'king' with 'Obama' or, if you prefer, 'Master', because he strives to become both! Then see with fresh eyes how those words define our present lives as much as it did when Patrick Henry spoke them.
ReplyDeleteI believe as K does that these words should stir your soul. If not, then I believe Samuel Adams words should reach you :
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”
