Reality: "Since 1914, all the great European empires — British, French, German, Russian, Italian — have vanished..."
Without a game-changer the coming empires on Earth will be Asian, Central/South American, African and/or Muslim. None has a history of respecting the Bill of Rights.
Those currently entrusted with that document aren't any better.
So, remind me again, what are we all fussing about?
Here's PJB's link.

Heh. So much for the Zero Population proponents theories.
ReplyDeleteInteresting information, I think the two most defining elements in this equation is, 1. The loss of our small family farms, an agrarian lifestyle that has turned into Agribusiness that relies on machines not people to exist. 2. Feminism. Women choosing careers over husbands and children, and if they do have children, limiting them to one, two, possibly three, if you can't control yourself.
Just musing here, I'd be interested in knowing what the UN uses for indicators of such things.

Within 20 years, “software substitution” will dramatically reduce the demand for many types jobs, Bill Gates said Thursday at the American Enterprise Institute. It’s a gloomy prediction that he says many people, including governments, aren’t prepared for.
Make no mistake, “software substitution” is a fancy way of saying software automation — as in “bots” and whatnot. Many of the jobs that could be eliminated are lower skill occupations.
“Software substitution, whether it’s for drivers or waiters or nurses … it’s progressing,” Gates said. “Technology over time will reduce demand for jobs, particularly at the lower end of skill set. … 20 years from now, labor demand for lots of skill sets will be substantially lower. I don’t think people have that in their mental model.”
