Are you truly a Minuteman?
At this moment in the suburbs of DC it is 16 degrees and snowing a very fine curtain of white that is being whipped by the wind. At this moment in St. Maries, Idaho it is 29 degrees and snowing a bit here and there.
If you had to go, right now, and grab your nearest Go Bag and head out the door into an unknown Ruckus, a fight that may keep you from returning home for at least 72 hours, how would you fare? Could you muster in a Minute? Got what you need to stay warm and fed and in fighting condition?
Consider the cold factor with some good counsel from Defensive Training Group.
The goal is to be ready, to be a Minuteman, yes?

Let's see,
ReplyDeleteYes, very well.
No, but under 5 minutes.
Yes, plus extra snivel gear.

disclaimer: I have no interest in either firm, just damn good gear.
"Snivel gear" - I love it. Hadn't heard that one before.
DeleteThat term goes way, waaaay back...even to my day....and 'snivel gear' is absolutely essential.....unless you're a super-hero... ;-)
DeleteI am. My ammo bag, assault pack and Git Kit are all in my gun room, along with my weapons. It'll take me longer to put on my boots than it would to gather my gear.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I could do it. Wouldn't want to though. I've hunted in the high country of Colorado and New Mexico and I participated in two Reforger exercises in Germany while in the Army. I would rather not contend with the cold if I don't have to. It's just too, well, cold.
ReplyDeleteBut if you have something in mind...
4.0 Sir! good to go! But it would be more like 10-20min to get dressed, and get out a door. But I bet I make the RP in under 35. I keep everything packed for a three day road march.---Ray
ReplyDeleteInteresting products; a competitor for the 'lamalite' used by 'Wiggy's' in their bags and woobies. I can attest for the Wiggy's version of bags and other products using the same type of filler. It is superb! Light, super warm, compressible, and actually repels water when wet.
ReplyDeleteGood stuff.
well, all i can say is that if there's "a meeting on the Green", I'll be there with what I have... I don't know how fast I'll get there nor how long I'll last but by God they'll know I showed up... the fight is just as is the cause for it

St. Maries
ReplyDeleteAlready there? Must have missed it, if so.
Nope, somewhere in-between. Don't want to make it too easy for certain people to know exactly where I am and when I may pop into their office... ;)
DeleteThe Studio is being remodeled already, so we'll be able to open the doors pretty quickly when we roll into town.
K
I see. Thanks.
DeleteOf course Kerodin isn't already in St. Maries. None of us want him to move here.
ReplyDeleteKam: You be sure to drop in and introduce yourself, ok? I'm looking forward to it.
DeleteDoes the 50 year old in his mommys basement think he's funny... I would pay money to see him stop in...
DeleteLineman: You can bet I'll get it on audio and video, and fly it from the blog forever. ;) This is why people like him try to hide their identities and never show up to get in my face - fear and common sense.
Delete"None of us want him to move here."
DeleteThat's an awfully wide claim; I'm quite sure it's false as written.
But no matter. Would you mind sharing why you don't?
Kam ought to stop by and introduce himself- He might even take away the fact that Sam is a great guy, and not the boogeyman that others who haven't met him portray him to be.

I find that's true of almost everyone, Lewis. There are some freak exceptions, but not too many. Too bad that in this world, those freaks often get paid very well working for Govco...and move up the ladder quickly.
DeleteI'd like to be wrong, but my guess is Kam's just another hit-and-runner, speaking for everyone around him about someone he doesn't know.
Note how collectivist philosophy makes that so easy to do. Yawn.
"...my guess is Kam's just another hit-and-runner, speaking for everyone around him about someone he doesn't know."
DeleteThat's long enough. I wish I could figure out horses so easily.
