DHS Purchases 2,700 Light-Armored Vehicles
I ask, does any single person reading this blog believe that there is anything but a fight coming between Citizens and forces loyal to .Gov?
I'm asking in all sincerity, and I will not beat you up if you comment contrary to my point.
I'd truly like to hear a reasoned argument for all of the steps being taken by .Gov if the end game is not oppression.
One more time: Is there one single preson reading this blog who does not believe .Gov means to have a war with her Citizens?
I think every single one of you had better be stocked by now, and dumping your FRNs into extras.
Here's the story.

So what will they be used for? Bringing the stack to someone's front door? Controlling the FSA when the SNAP cards stop working? Maybe, but I think they'll be used in conjunction with the prefab checkpoints they have also ordered. Movement is about to become very difficult.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to stock up on water balloons and paint. Many other things come to mind, but you should get the picture.

thermite....at least once before the gov hid secret aquisitions under the guise of "ammunition". some super secret general electric drone technology was paid for under a contract labeled as such. at least one bidder of said contracts was formed 3 days before the bid was submitted and accepted. we may be putting too much into the ammo angle. however, on the mraps, i have no such counter arguement. just have to hope the dot five oh will punch holes in it.i think it will. barring that, we'll need to find out where they park and take them out in place. my county sheriff got one the other day. i know where it lives.
ReplyDeleteSave all your coffee cans, 'nough said.

Highlander
We need to get the specs on these things. Anything that can be built...can be un-built. They have to have a weak point. Riverrider, they claim that even the glass can stop .50. Someone might have to test that theory, for informational purposes only, of course.
ReplyDeleteThey are basically a dump truck chassis. They use air brake cans on the axles. The rear brake cans are exposed in the other pictures I have seen. If one of the air lines or the brake can its self somehow mysteriously had a hole appear in it that let the air pressure out, the big assed spring inside the brake can will lock the brakes up. That is a failsafe and what they do for a parking brake. It has to have enough air pressure to overcome the spring pressure to release the brakes.
DeleteJust thinking out loud here. I used to work on big trucks.
gabby, the lit says "up to .50 caliber". in milspeak this USUALLY means up to but not including.hope i'm right this time. it might take one hit, but i'm about sure it won't take another. i use APIT. barring that, sabotage with thermite on the hood. can't show if it won't go. a trench 4 feet wide x 4 ft deep should stop him too. would take a hell of a wrecker to get him out.
DeleteCan't drive em with flat tires.
ReplyDeleteum, run flats my friend. however, loosen all the lugs, might cause a good wreck. cut brake lines, whatever. drain the tranny, but take the oil so they'll burn it out. same for engine. get them where they sleep. i garrantee it won't be guarded, the first time. sic semper tyrannis
DeleteA friend maintains these for the Military. They are not invicible.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget that the CMP sells AP in 30.06 it's out there...
Good Lord, don't tear up the equipment. They don't drive themselves. And the designated drivers all live in houses or apartments, eat, sleep, shop, etc., "out here". Me, I'd rather have one more vehicle and one less neighbor.
ReplyDeleteSTATS ON MRAP VEHICLES.
ReplyDeleteCONS....
60'turning radius, cant turn fast at all without turning over, we build very expensive roll over trainers for the soldiers to train with. Cant go over 75% of bridges because of there weight. Some models weigh over 30 tons loaded out. No matter what you see on the news they are not good off road. There fuel hogs. They are not offensive weapons but expensive troop carriers. Some have gun port holes, some have machine gun turrets. Engine grill shots will disable it. Surround it with other vehicles and its trapped. It will probably be used to transport local officials, military and civilian, maybe local LEO when SHTF happens.
PROS...
It can run with no air in tires. It will protect whoever is inside. Whoever is on the inside must come out though. Its a slow process and this is where they will be vulnerable.
