The Citadel concept has captured attention from all over America and across the world.
The media buzz is astounding - more on that in the near future. The interest from individuals is mind-blowing.
A local Government in Texas is even interested in the concept of locating Citadel assets in their town. We've had many inquiries from Citizens of Texas on the same topic. What do you think? A scaled version of the Citadel somewhere along the Texas Gulf Coast, complete with 2A manufacturing and all the other aspects discussed for the Idaho location - just not as big.
When we were contacted by representatives from this local Government we immediately saw the potential to broaden the Citadel concept, bring more Patriots into safety, add more jobs to a local economy, and sink another anchor-point for our broader goal of Continuity of Liberty. And with local .Gov support, many hurdles immediately drop away.
Obviously there is a much more diverse set of employment opportunities already established along the Texas Gulf Coast, from fishing to oil. The paradigm would be easier to implement than our efforts in Idaho (which will proceed at the same time.)
What say you? Is there interest in this audience for a Texas version of the Citadel on the Gulf Coast? It would be smaller than Idaho and designed to suit the local architecture, of course.

Having a winter home and a summer home, both in a III Citadel setting would be AWESOME! Kind of like a Patriot "snow bird".

Hell yes! The Lamar Peninsula would make a great location, as would something in the Palacios area, Seadrift, Port O'Connor...
ReplyDeleteSome FOBs and OPs are already established around TX. Others would move to a location such as this. I have already spoken to many Patriots around the state who are looking for exactly this type of opportunity!

Absolutely, it should be our goal to have more patriots, hell why not have the Citadel all over the country, oh yea that is what we used to be like. Then we can really tell .gov where to put it. There is power in numbers. Atlanta steve
ReplyDeletewhat I think would be an interesting twist on a citadal texas concept would be like a small full time group of people living there but also the citidal being a point where different patriot groups meet, training exercises, and trade shows, and events, which would be good for all parties involved and probablly pretty financially benifical to the citidal
ReplyDeleteI like that idea too. Texas is a huge state, so it might be more beneficial to have multiple micro-FOBs/Citadels around the state and use that one as the HOMEBASE if you will.

Not to throw a wet blanket on the whole thing but the coast gets hit with hurricanes.
ReplyDeleteEvery summer you have to worry about wind and flooding.
Something farther from the coast would probably be a little better, weather-wise.
As I'm a Texan, of course I'd be interested, but the coast has the kind of severe weather that leads me to suggest the kind of home we've dreamed of building for more than a decade: a Monolithic Dome (based in Italy, TEXAS oddly enough). They are virtually hurricane/tornado proof and much easier to heat/cool.

I predict that this will surpass the Idaho project. Warm weather and access to the ocean can perk up ears among those who think humans weren't meant to live where the high temp doesn't get above zero, and who think being landlocked is a trap.

Having spent a "lifetime" one winter in the dark hole of Houston, I would be VERY supportive of a warmer location.
ReplyDeleteTook a day to drive down to Lake Jackson (Ron Paul's headquarters) and found the area pleasant, people friendly. The Snowbird lifestyle seems very natural, and more appealing the older these bones get.
replication is not always a bad thing... same principles, same operation, different locale would be a good thing... I'm unclear: are they wanting the leadership of the original III Citadel to engage the effort or are they wanting a kind of spin-off, franchise-like arrangement..?? or maybe just a brain-picking session so to make they're own go of it? regardless of the intent, the overall idea strengthens the "movement"...

ReplyDeleteYou would have access to deepwater & shallow water arreas. There is readily available R&R access.
Ground is ferile for crops and such and there are large metro areas close by.
99% of the rural areas of Texads are pretty much as we are.
Just like the original, this will not be a problem.

What they want more than anything is our manufacturing assets and the revenue that would generate. I can also say that "some" people in Texas anticipate the very real potential for a free and independent "Republic of Texas" again in the near future, and having the means of arms production already in place is appealing to them.
ReplyDeleteI can't fault that logic - that's the same reason we all decided on III Arms as the keystone industry inside the walls. And while III Arms remains committed to the Redoubt, H and I have a few ideas for manufacturing in Texas that could bring the rest to fruition.
Here's the kicker: The Idaho Citadel is a ground-up, grass-roots endeavor, requiring a larger number of participants to keep costs low for moving in and being part of the community.
A smaller footprint in Texas, with astronomically higher land prices, means that the cost per participant goes up. That's basic arithmetic. So instead of the no-down-payment paradigm we've managed to create for Idaho, the Texas paradigm would require more "traditional" financing. To get a home in the Citadel, you'll have to bring more to the table than your good looks.
Anyway, at this point there is nothing but a few conversations between the parties. This post was simply to gauge interest - and it seems there is sufficient interest. So, we'll explore the next step.
