III Arms: AR Update
**UPDATE** Citadel folks: Please take a moment and answer the 3 polls at right. The newest one will be a big help in laying the groundwork for the Citadel.
~~
AR: The man has skills - and he's not done yet.
Are you an AR shooter? This is one of the builds being put together by Millerized for III Arms.
Citadel folks: Begin to consider firearms and ammo inter-changeability and requirements for each household. Should every home agree to have at least one firearm in each of the major calibers? If the world does go to a SHTF period, who knows what may be available?
Anyway, here's the link to Jim's latest handiwork.

I think that is a sound idea Sam. Which caliber should we choose?

Whatever we choose, III Arms should be fully capable of manufacturing it. Think if 3000 families were able to buy a III Arms AR-15, that would sure help III Arms, thereby providing the funds to build the Citadel. Win-Win for everyone.
ReplyDeleteOn another thought line... if the households inside the walls are "Citadel Property," why not include a rifle that is allotted to each house? "Each lease comes with a roof, four walls, a kitchen and a Rifle."
BG I like the first paragraph, but the second one, as far as the Citadel providing guns, there I see a problem. First the Citadel buying the guns from III ARMS seems more like a tiger chasing it's own tail thing to me. While on the other hand, Citadel Patriots buying them from III ARMS, adds to the cash flow for the Citadel, which benefits everyone. Second, while I believe we need to try the best we can to make this an affordable effort for everyone, I think you have to have some skin in the game. Also, some people will take good care of their guns, others, perhaps, not so much. Who is going to police the guns, are they being taken care of, are they being sold on the sly, it just seems like a headache we don't need. I know, most people who live in the Citadel won't be that way, but there will be people who slip through the cracks, it's inevitable. Let's just make it simple to start with.
DeleteJust my two cents.
Miss Violet
"live in the citdel" question needs an "as fallback" option. For when SHTF.

ReplyDeleteExcellent idea, Bonnie.
When we talk about this caliber I think we should take into consideration what will be the most likely caliber to be used against us, as in what is going to the most popular and available, because it would be a bonus to be able to use confiscated ammo/guns. I mean, we are talking about an extreme situation here, and this is a factor.

.308, 5.56x45 (.223 is NOT the same...close, but no) .45 and 9mm. Toss in .40 since the .gov has been kind enough to stockpile so much for us.
ReplyDelete2 AR's or 2 bolts in the rifle caliber, and your choice of pistol. We'll have more than enough spare ammo once the first wave wears itself out on our walls.
