Please consider the polls (2 of them) at right --->

  1. If you are ever in Richmond on a Sunday afternoon, take an hour to sit in St. John's Church, in the very pews that our founders sat in, and listen to it live. It will change you to your core.

  2. I'm not 100% sure what Kerodin's intent is with this poll, but the results (currently 29 yes, 2 no) are very telling. I see two honest men and 29 who, at the very least, are letting their bravado answer for them.

If you answered yes to the poll, WHY HAVE YOU NOT TAKEN ACTION ALREADY? The text of the speech is easily available and familiar to most visitors here.

Do you need a charismatic leader to prompt you to action? Do you need the confidence of a critical mass of others embarking on the same path? Or does it just feel good to thump your chest on the internet. I can hear you now, "but I need Patrick Henry to hold my hand!"

We can't afford to play these childish games if we hope to ever have even a modicum of success. If it is time, go to work. If not, stop damaging all of our credibility with empty threats.

Here is a link to the speech audio.

I'll check the news in the morning.

    1. I haven't acted already for a few reasons. One being that I have a large family I would leave behind to fend for themselves. Another being that I really don't have any desire to be remembered as a crazed lone gunman to my children who aren't yet old enough to understand why. Maybe I answered yes before I truly thought it through, but maybe I didn't. I can't say for sure not being in the position to have to chose. I do know, however, I don't want my children growing up to pay for my inaction. It has nothing to do with "bravado" as you put it though.

  3. Here we go again… Who will go first? Who will be the leader? When will you leave the porch? What will that special event be that kicks your ass in gear?

Unfortunately, I do not have answers to these questions. I suppose we will end up like Ralphie in A Christmas Story, being bullied incessantly until one day, our inner hell will break loose upon our tormentors. I don’t suppose many know where their true line in the sand lies, but when crossed, there will be no denying it.

But would I begin hunting after hearing Patrick Henry’s Liberty or Death speech? If it were given today, I would have to say no, I would not. However, I have already heard his call to arms, which is just that, a call to prepare for battle, not to take the field. That call I have heeded. I know not when my line will be crossed, but rest assured, there is no going back once the threshold has been crossed.

    1. Ms Gadsden,

Couldn't agree with you more. The Ralphie analogy is 100% accurate. There WILL come a time when we have had enough. Just like at Concord and Lexington. The breaking point will be firearms related just as it was when King George III's lobsterbacks marched to confiscate American stores of gunpowder. soetoro-obama is looking to do the same....confiscate American weapons today, destroy 2A, and demand we bow to the illegal "king".

When we step off the porch there will be no turning back.

  6. Why haven't I "left the porch" yet? Am I strapped and ready to go? How many other are ready? These are the big questions in everyones' minds amongst the III.

I have to begin with an observation - Courage is one thing, and stupidity quite another! John Parker had 80 men formed and ready at his command, against a present force of some 200 - 300 British regulars, yet his order was to disperse and return home, because he was aware that additional British forces were near at hand, and had no intention of sacrificing his troops needlessly. John parker would have let the British pass, knowing that they would gain nothing (as the munitions had already been moved elsewhere)... Yet fate had other plans.

So I answer thus: yes, I am ready to go, but I am also cognizant of the fact that we need as many people ready as possible if we want a real victory, and not a war of attrition with no clear winner... I am helping others to train and prepare, and I will do so until the appointed time - I trust In God to give us our moment.

Had I John Parker's 80 men, and the knowledge that other such forces existed nearby, I would seek an immediate opportunity to take the green and put the devils to task... but I don't, so I work to increase our forces to a size and level of readiness which provides for success. As with the leaders of that day, I do what I must to build and prepare our community for the fight, and trust in God to give us the right opportunity for a victory. When that opportunity comes and we take to the green, there shall be no more time to recruit and train, only to fight and bleed...
As such, I shall not waste patriot lives on half-measures or the pretense of showing "bravado".

The devil loves carnage, whereas God loves wisdom...

  7. Currently the vote sits at 90 yea's and 13 nay's for slitting the throats of our enemies following a real life speech from the likes of Patrick Henry.

I ask you 90 yea's, think on this scenario: Let us assume you meet up, at say, a local Patcom this weekend. You are now among your fellow III Patriots. Perhaps there are a dozen of you, perhaps all 90 of the yea's. Now, picture one of your fellow Patriots giving Patrick Henry's speech, or one of similar nature tailored to the events at hand. Would mere words you have heard before entice you into action? Would you stop by your local Enemy of Liberty's house and drag your knife across his throat on your way back to your home?

I cannot answer this for you, perhaps for some this is the case. But the next time your fellow Patriot speaks these words, you better nut up and begin the hunt.

In the words of Mr. K, "If you draw a line in the sand with articulated responses if that line is crossed, back up your threats, or do not make the threats in the first place."

  8. Furthermore, If all it's going to take to start this war is a simple speech, someone step up and make the damn speech already.

There are many who ask when? and who will lead? Well here's your chance to be the leader, your chance at the history books.

Take the reigns, but don't half ass it. Go hard, or not at all.
